'Veer-Zaara' advance booking: 3,250 tickets sold on 1st day

    What's the story

The timeless classic Veer-Zaara, directed by Yash Chopra and featuring Shah Rukh Khan, Preity Zinta, and Rani Mukerji, is being re-released in theaters after 20 years.

Despite the limited number of screenings, the film has managed to sell 3,250 tickets on the first day of its re-release in top national chains like PVRInox and Cinepolis.

    Release details

    'Veer-Zaara's re-release strategy

Veer-Zaara is being re-released in 250 screens by Yash Raj Films, with each screen only showcasing one show of the movie. This approach differs from a full-blown re-release, as seen with the film Tumbbad.

Despite this, the film's ticket sales have been impressive.

The MovieMax chain has also reported over 300 tickets sold, three times more than this week's new release - The Buckingham Murders.

    Audience response

    'Veer-Zaara's enduring appeal

This is not the first time that a hit movie is being re-released by Yash Raj Films. They have previously done so with other iconic films like Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Dil To Pagal Hai, and Mohabbatein.

Despite the film's availability on digital platforms, it continues to attract audiences in theaters.

This reaffirms that big-screen viewing remains popular, particularly for content that evokes a sense of nostalgia among viewers.
