IIFA 2024: 'Animal' leads with 11 nominations; Ranbir, Ranveer nominated

The International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) announced the nominations for its 2024 edition on Monday.
This year, Ranbir Kapoor-starrer Animal has secured the maximum number of nominations with 11 nods.
It is closely followed by Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, featuring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt, which has bagged 10 nominations.
Shah Rukh Khan's action hits from last year—Jawan and Pathaan—have received seven nominations each in the Popular Category.

'12th Fail' and 'Satyaprem Ki Katha' secured multiple nominations
Apart from the aforementioned films, last year's critically acclaimed and commercially successful 12th Fail, featuring Vikrant Massey, has secured five nominations.
The biographical drama film—directed, produced, and written by Vidhu Vinod Chopra—tells the inspiring story of Manoj Kumar Sharma, who rose from extreme poverty to become an Indian Police Service officer.
Meanwhile, Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani's Satyaprem Ki Katha have also received multiple nominations.

'Animal,' 'RRKPK' among Best Picture nominees
The Best Picture category includes nominations for 12th Fail (Chopra), Animal, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, (Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Pranay Reddy Vanga), and Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani (Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta).
Other contenders in this category are SRK's Jawan (Gauri Khan), Satyaprem Ki Katha (Sajid Nadiadwala, Shareen Mantri Kedia, Kishor Arora), and Vicky Kaushal-led Sam Bahadur (Ronnie Screwvala).

Meanwhile, The Best Negative Role category includes nominations for Bobby Deol, John Abraham, Vijay Sethupathi, Emraan Hashmi, and Yami Gautam.
