Has Varun Dhawan charged Rs. 33cr for 'Street Dancer 3D'?

    What's the story

Varun Dhawan, who recently wrapped up Street Dancer 3D, "India's biggest dance film," has reportedly charged a whopping amount for it.

According to media reports, the Sui Dhaaga actor is being paid an amount of Rs. 33 crores, for the third installment of the ABCD franchise.

The decision was taken "keeping his satellite reach (his wide range of TV viewership) in mind."

    Here's more.

    Quote

"Varun is going to be one of GenY's highest-paid actors"

"Varun is clearly going to be one of the highest-paid actors from the younger generation. He's being paid to the tune of Rs. 33 crore for Street Dancer 3D. The call was taken keeping his satellite reach in mind," a source was quoted as saying.

    Rights

Satellite rights to be sold at "an unbelievable price"

As per a Pinkvilla report, Varun is a sure bet on the small screen.

"His films work tremendously well on TV and the makers also reap huge benefits of the same," the source asserted.

Considering this, the Street Dancer 3D makers have decided to sell the satellite rights to "a leading channel for an unbelievable price and the channel is okay with it."

    Information

For now, Varun has received Rs. 10-11cr as signing amount

The report further stated that Varun got a signing amount of Rs. 10-11 crores for Street Dancer 3D. The remaining amount, meanwhile, will be given to him from the profit generated from the satellite and digital rights of the movie.

    Faint

Varun Dhawan fainted on the sets of 'Street Dancer 3D'

Separately, Varun has been lauded for the dedication he showed towards the Remo D'Souza directorial.

The Main Tera Hero actor, who had fainted on the sets due to low blood pressure, made up for the lost time by pulling off an 18-hour-long shift later.

Although the doctor had advised him rest, he resumed shooting just after a day, and wrapped his portion on time.

    Wrap

Despite hurdles, 'Street Dancer 3D' shooting wrapped up on time

Even his co-star in the movie, Shraddha Kapoor was injured multiple times, but did not for once stall the shooting.

And their hard work paid off, as the team wrapped up the shooting of the film on time.

Varun also shared a heart-warming note on Instagram thanking his entire team, and said, "I have had a blast and I'm sad it's over."

    Instagram Post

    Information

'Street Dancer 3D' to release next year on January 24

Apart from Varun and Shraddha, Street Dancer 3D will also star Prabhu Deva, Nora Fatehi, Raghav Juyal, Punit Pathak in the lead roles. The dance drama is slated to release on January 24 next year, clashing with Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari's sports drama Panga.

    Failure

His last outing 'Kalank' turned out to be a debacle

Notably, Varun's last release Kalank turned out to be a disaster.

The movie, which had a stellar cast of Madhuri Dixit, Sanjay Dutt, Alia Bhatt and Aditya Roy Kapur, failed to win hearts and also tanked at the box office.

But seems like, even a debacle like Kalank could not really disturb Varun's hold in the film industry.

And his remuneration says it all.
