    The torrential downpour that is central to the story was also prominently displayed.

    Film synopsis

    'Tumbbad' is a story of insatiable greed

    Tumbbad tells the story of three generations of a family facing the consequences of their greed.

    The film is set in Tumbbad, Maharashtra, and spans the period from 1918 to 1947. It explores themes such as greed, gold, and the mythical demon Hastar.

    The film's unique marriage of horror, magical realism, and fantasy has been praised by critics and cinephiles, though the film was a commercial failure.

    The project was directed by Rahi Anil Barve.
