    The critically acclaimed horror film Tumbbad is set to make a comeback in theaters, the makers announced on Saturday.

    Originally scheduled for August 30, the re-release date has been pushed to September 13.

    The announcement was accompanied by a new poster that encapsulates the eerie essence of the landmark horror film.

    It's directed by Rahi Anil Barve.

    New poster teases a chilling journey of two central characters

    The new poster features the film's protagonist, Vinayak Rao (played by Sohum Shah), leading his young son through the night with a lantern.

    The image suggests they're embarking on a perilous quest.

    Adding to the scary atmosphere is the presence of a shadowy figure lurking in the background, hinting at the supernatural elements of their journey.

    The tagline reads, "Experience in Cinemas September 13, 2024."

    'Tumbbad': A cinematic masterpiece

    Co-directed by Adesh Prasad, and creatively directed by Anand Gandhi, the movie is renowned for its captivating narrative, exceptional cinematography, and meticulous production design.

    The film was written by Mitesh Shah, Prasad, Barve, and Gandhi, and produced by Sohum Shah, Aanand L. Rai, Mukesh Shah, and Amita Shah.

    It tells the story of Rao's descent into greed as he hunts for a mythical treasure guarded by a malevolent entity named Hastar.

    'Tumbbad' boasts critical acclaim and international recognition

    It has received numerous accolades over the years, including three wins out of eight nominations at the 64th Filmfare Awards for Best Cinematography, Best Art Direction, and Best Sound Design.

    It was also the first Indian film to be screened in the Critics's Week section of the 75th Venice International Film Festival, further cementing its global appeal and artistic excellence.

    Its unique blend of horror, mythology, and drama has earned it a dedicated fan base.
