'Kanguva': Suriya looks formidable in new poster; check trailer date!
The highly-anticipated fantasy thriller Kanguva, featuring actor Suriya, is set to be released theatrically on October 10. On Saturday, the film's production company, Studio Green, revealed a captivating poster of Suriya with an intimidating look on social media. The actor is seen wearing a period-style outfit with a large wing-like structure in the background. In addition to the poster, the makers announced the film's trailer release date: Monday (August 12).
'Kanguva' trailer to coincide with director's birthday
The announcement of the trailer release was accompanied by a statement saying, "The wait is over! The time for glory is approaching, brace yourself for an unparalleled celebration. The grand #KanguvaTrailer is all set to be yours from August 12." August 12 is also director Siva's birthday. As a strategic promotional move, the teaser will be attached to Vikram's Thangalaan, which is set to be released on Thursday.

'Kanguva' boasts a star-studded cast
Kanguva has been generating significant buzz since its announcement. Alongside Suriya, Bollywood actors Bobby Deol and Disha Patani will also be seen in the film. Other notable actors such as Jagapathi Babu and Yogi Babu are also part of the cast. Interestingly, Suriya will be reportedly playing seven different roles in this movie. Set for release in 3D and IMAX formats, Kanguva is produced on a substantial budget of ₹350cr, reportedly.
'Kanguva' blends past and present in a periodic action drama
Described as a periodic action drama, Kanguva intertwines the present with events from 500 years ago. The film's music is composed by Devi Sri Prasad, and Vetri manages the cinematography, promising a visually and musically engaging experience. Apart from Kanguva, Suriya is also anticipating the release of another film, tentatively titled Suriya 44. Directed by Karthik Subbaraj, this film is aiming for a release in September 2025.
