    What's the story

Shah Rukh Khan's plan to renovate and enlarge his iconic Bandra bungalow, Mannat, has encountered a legal roadblock.

Activist Santosh Daundkar has alleged that the actor and the Maharashtra Coastal Zone Management Authority (MCZMA) violated regulations in securing the project's required approval under Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) clearance.

The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has asked Daundkar to provide evidence supporting these claims within four weeks.

    Evidence submission

    NGT's directive to submit evidence

The NGT has asked Daundkar to provide proof of the alleged violations.

"If the Project Proponent or the MCZMA has committed any violation of the above procedure, the same may be submitted by the appellant specifically along with the evidence in support of that, within four weeks," the NGT stated.

The tribunal will next hear the matter on April 23.

    Accusations

Allegations of merging flats and structural changes

Daundkar has also accused Khan of merging "12 number of 1-BHK flats for mass housing" into one residence for one family.

This allegation, along with others regarding violations in securing the Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) clearance, forms the basis of the appeal.

Mannat is a Grade III heritage structure, hence, any structural changes have to be approved by the concerned authorities.

    Renovation plans

    Khan's plan for Mannat renovation

Despite the allegations, Khan's plans for Mannat renovations are in the works.

The actor, along with his family, is temporarily moving out of their iconic Bandra home so that the work can proceed.

Reportedly, the renovation will include expanding the six-story bungalow by adding two more floors.

On the work front, Khan will next be seen in Siddharth Anand's King, co-starring Suhana Khan.
