    What's the story

Ryan Gosling's much-talked-about action-comedy film The Fall Guy is set to make its digital premiere on JioCinema.

The streaming platform announced on Monday that the premiere date is slated for September 3. It will be available in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Bengali, and Marathi.

The movie, which also features Emily Blunt in a pivotal role, hit the big screens earlier this year on May 3.

    Plot

'The Fall Guy': A tale of stunts and love

The Fall Guy, directed by David Leitch, follows Colt Seavers (played by Gosling), a seasoned stuntman who disappears for 18 months after a near-fatal accident.

When he learns that Jody (Blunt), the love of his life, is making her directorial debut, he emerges from semi-retirement, hoping for a second chance at love and work.

Unbeknownst to him, Colt becomes an unwitting pawn in a much larger conspiracy.

    Details

    A star-studded cast and crew

Directed by Leitch, The Fall Guy is a cinematic adaptation of the popular 1980s American television series.

The film's script is written by Drew Pearce and boasts a star-studded cast including Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Hannah Waddingham, Winston Duke, Teresa Palmer, and Stephanie Hsu.

The movie is produced by Kelly McCormick and Leitch under the 87North banner, along with Gosling and Guymon Casady of Entertainment 360.

    Character development

    Blunt's character underwent significant changes

Blunt's character in The Fall Guy underwent significant changes during the development process. Originally envisioned as a cosmetics artist, her role was later revised to a first-time director.

Discussing this transformation, Blunt said, "We all kind of built her together because I think maybe in the original script she was quite severe."

She added that it would be more interesting to see someone who is way over their head.

    Box office

'The Fall Guy' underperformed at the box office

Despite its intriguing plot and high-profile cast, The Fall Guy failed to make a significant impact at the Indian as well as global box office.

The film managed to earn only $178M worldwide against a production budget of $125M.

However, it received mostly positive reviews from critics for its unique blend of action and comedy, as well as the performances of its lead actors.
