    What's the story

    Aparshakti Khurana, who recently impressed audiences with his performance in Shraddha Kapoor-led Stree 2, is all set to star in the upcoming spy thriller titled Berlin.

    The film, helmed by Atul Sabharwal, also features Ishwak Singh, Rahul Bose, Anupriya Goenka, and Kabir Bedi in pivotal roles.

    On Monday, the makers of Berlin released a new poster announcing that the film is scheduled to premiere on the OTT platform ZEE5.

    Plot details

    'Berlin' explores espionage in 1990s Delhi

    Set against the backdrop of a chilly 1990s Delhi, Berlin delves into a brewing espionage storm.

    The plot revolves around three main characters whose lives intertwine in unexpected ways.

    Singh portrays a deaf-mute young man accused of being a foreign spy, while Khurana steps out of his usual role to play a sign language expert tasked with decoding the secrets concealed in silence.

    Goenka plays an enigmatic agent with unclear allegiances.

    Director Sabharwal shares his experience of making 'Berlin'

    Filmmaker Sabharwal shared his experience of directing Berlin.

    He said, "The on-screen chemistry between Aparshakti and Ishwak is nothing short of electric - it's a treat that I believe viewers will thoroughly enjoy."

    Sabharwal further added, "Having the opportunity to collaborate with such versatile stars, alongside our visionary producers and the platform giant ZEE5, is any filmmaker's dream."

    Expectations

    'Berlin' aims to set new benchmark in espionage genre

    To note, Berlin was screened at several film festivals before making its digital debut. The film had its premiere at the Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival in 2023.

    Manish Kalra, Chief Business Officer at ZEE5, expressed his excitement about the film's premiere: "Berlin, with its stellar cast, complex plot, and a first-of-its-kind narrative with the backdrop of 1990s Delhi, has garnered critical acclaim at international film festivals. We are confident it will set a new benchmark in the espionage genre."
