    What's the story

Ramanand Sagar's iconic television series, Ramayan, which kept all Indian families glued to their television sets every Sunday morning in the late 1980s, is coming back to the small screen.

After popular demand, Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Prakash Javadekar confirmed that the mega-series will be re-telecast on DD National starting Saturday, March 28.

    Here's more on this.

    Details

One episode to air in morning, another in evening: Javadekar

Since India is under an unprecedented 21-day lockdown amid coronavirus pandemic, most people are confined to their homes and have been demanding a re-telecast of this series.

Now, a day after Prasar Bharti CEO hinted at a plausible comeback, Javadekar confirmed it.

He said one episode will air between 9 am and 10 am and another between 9 pm to 10 pm.
