    What's the story

Actor Rajkummar Rao has learned the craft of tailoring to prepare himself for his role in the upcoming film 'Stree'.

The 'Newton' star underwent a month-long training to master the skill and he learned to stitch a variety of clothing, from a blouse to a shirt!

He also trained with a dialect coach to ace the Chanderi dialect.

    Horror comedy

Horror-comedy genre unexplored in India: Rajkummar Rao

"Once you sit on that chair, the coordination and reflexes are something else. You can cheat with a body double but I wanted to do everything and bought myself a sewing machine and hired a tailor to teach me how to sew," Rao said.

"We finished the shoot in one go. The horror-comedy genre, while unexplored in India, has a huge audience," Rao said.

    Information

'Stree' to release on August 31

The horror comedy, which also stars Shraddha Kapoor, is directed by Amar Kaushik and jointly produced by Dinesh Vijan, Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK. The film will release on August 31.

    Brilliance in acting

Rao's extreme diet for 'Trapped' to appear weak in movie

In the past too, Rao had gone the extra mile for one of the finest performances of his career in survival drama 'Trapped'.

In order to appear weak for certain portions of the film, the actor underwent a rigorous diet of black coffee and two carrots a day for about 22 days.

It is these things which make him a brilliant actor!
