'Fantastic Beasts 3' trailer: Dumbledore prepares army to fight Grindelwald
What's the story
The third film in the Fantastic Beasts series, Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore is nearing its release.
And, ahead of that, Warner Bros. dropped the second trailer for the film on Monday.
We see Jude Law's Albus Dumbledore bringing together his army to stop Gellert Grindelwald in his nefarious plans.
To recall, Johnny Depp was replaced by Mads Mikkelsen as Grindelwald in 2020.

What does the trailer show?
The 2:44-minute-long clip begins with an old Dumbledore (Michael Gambon) saying: "Memory is everything. Without it, we are blind. Without it, we leave the fate of our world to chance."
Then we switch to the young Dumbledore (Law), signaling he is haunted by his memories in some way.
This is when he gets informed that Grindelwald has declared war on the Muggles.

As the former headmaster of Hogwarts assembles his army of wizards and witches, we also see him hire a Muggle member.
And it is no one other than Jacob Kowalski (Dan Fogler).
Initially reluctant, Kowalski is brought on board and to his delight, is given a wand.
Of course, Magizoologist Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) and his other friends are a part of this too.

Replacement
Here is how Mikkelsen became the new Dark Wizard Grindelwald
The trailer also features Mikkelsen's Grindelwald, given he is the main antagonist.
To refresh your memory, the Danish actor was brought in as Depp's replacement in November 2020, soon after Warner Bros. asked the Pirates of the Caribbean actor to leave the franchise.
Depp had to resign after a judge ruled there was "overwhelming evidence" that he physically assaulted ex-wife/actor Amber Heard.

Coming back to the film, the third installment of the five-part franchise is a spin-off series and prequel to the Harry Potter franchise.
Directed by David Yates, Fantastic Beasts 3 co-stars Katherine Waterston and Alison Sudol.
Meanwhile, Disney/Warner Bros. announced they would pause theatrical releases of their upcoming films in Russia in response to its Ukraine invasion and this list includes Fantastic Beasts 3.
