    What's the story

'Fantastic Beasts', the spin-off of Harry Potter series will be returning for a third installment.

Notably, the second part titled 'The Crimes of Grindelwald' is due on November 16.

Fans of the franchise also have an added reason to cheer, as star actor Johnny Depp has also confirmed that he will return to reprise his role in the franchise.

    Read all about it here.

    Grindelwald

    Hello darkness my old friend

The 55-year-old Depp confirmed returning as the scheming dark wizard, Gellert Grindelwald in the third part of the franchise.

The shooting will reportedly start in mid-2019.

Depp said at the Zurich Film Festival, "The possibilities in that world are wide open, so you can really try anything... I look forward to the next installment, which I think we start the middle of next year".

    Portrayal

Depp's insight into the role of Grindelwald

Depp is eager to return as Grindelwald because he believes the character has many layers to explore.

The space to experiment is what actors like Depp thrive on and his role as Jack Sparrow in the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' franchise gave enough proof.

Depp will bring his own interpretation of Grindelwald who is a sensitive, concerned but manipulative wizard with 'fascist' ideas.

    Casting complaints

    No particular place to go

Ironically, when Depp was initially cast, some fans protested the choice due to the actor's reported violence against his then-wife Amber Heard.

However, JK Rowling whose books are the source material of the franchise expressed her happiness with Depp last year.

Moreover, director David Yates chose to respect the privacy of Depp and Heard's divorce and keep the 'extraordinary' actor on board.
