    What's the story

    After wowing critics and audiences alike, Ayushmann Khurrana starrer Andhadhun added yet another feather to its cap on Friday.

    The Sriram Raghavan directorial was given the best Hindi film award at the 66th National Film Awards. It also won the award for Best Adapted Screenplay.

    Separately, Ayushmann and Vicky Kaushal won awards in the Best Actor category for Andhadhun and Uri respectively.

    Notably, Keerthy Suresh was named the Best Actress for her splendid performance in Mahanati. Uri director Aditya Dhar was given the award for Best Director. Gujarati movie Hellaro won in Best Film category.

    Further, Baaram, Mahanati, Hamid, Bhonga, Mama, Turtle, Bulbul Can Sing, Harjeeta, won awards for best Tamil, Telugu, Urdu, Marathi, Garu, Rajasthani, Assamese, and Punjabi movies respectively.

    Sundani from Nigeria was awarded the best Malayalam Film.

    While KGF bagged the award for best action, Kruti Mahesh and Jyoti D Tommar won best choreography award for their work in Padmaavat's Ghoomar.

    Arijit Singh, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Bindhumalini win big

    Arijit Singh, one of Bollywood's most sought-after singers, was awarded best male singer for his vocals in Binte Dil from the movie Padmaavat. Meanwhile, Bindhumalini was given the best female singer award for Maayavi Manave song from Nathicharami.

    Sanjay Leela Bhansali won National Award for best music composer for Padmaavat. Uri took the award for the best sound design.

    Supporting cast

    Badhaai Ho and movie's "dadi" won awards

    Separately, Surekha Sikri won the award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the highly-acclaimed movie Badhaai Ho.

    Badhaai Ho also took the award for Best Popular Film providing wholesome entertainment.

    Swanand Kirkire won the award for Best Supporting Actor for the movie Chumbak. The Best Child Artist Award was given to PV Rohit, Sahib Singh, Talha Arshad Reshi and Shrinivas Pokale.

    Movies

    Padman and Paani's message won jury's hearts

    Akshay Kumar-starrer Padman received the Best Film on Social Issue award. Similarly, Marathi movie Paani won the Best Film on Environment Conversation award.

    Kannada film Ondalla Eradalla won the Nargis Dutt award.

    Meanwhile, Best Debut Film of a Director award was given to Sudhakar Reddy Yakkanti for Naal. Uttarakhand won the award for most friendly state as far as movies are concerned.
