    What's the story

After the National Human Rights Commission slapped notices on the Telangana government and the Information and Broadcasting Ministry regarding the practice of casting couch in Tollywood, the Movie Artists Association (MAA) has lifted the ban on Sri Reddy.

The Telugu actress who brought the issue to the fore was earlier refused a membership by the MAA.

    Here's more.

    Details

    Reddy's way brought results

The lifting of the ban was announced at a joint press conference held by MAA president and Producers' Council President.

"We withdraw our Monday's decision not to give Reddy membership in MAA and advise her to apply for it. The screening committee will take a decision at its tri-monthly meeting."

Also, the Telugu film chambers of Commerce will set a Committee against sexual harassment.

    Background

She did not shy away from raising her voice

It was on last Saturday that Reddy resorted to stripping down to her bare minimum in front of the MAA office to protest against casting couch.

A few days later, she went on to reveal that 'Baahubali' star Rana Daggubati's brother Abhiram Daggubati had demanded sexual favors from her and promised to get her a role in a film but didn't.
