Mohanlal to star in Anoop Menon's next directorial venture
What's the story
Malayalam cinema icon, Mohanlal, has announced his next film project for 2025. The yet-to-be-titled movie is written and directed by actor-filmmaker Anoop Menon.
In a social media post, Mohanlal described the film as "close" to his heart and promised it would be an epic journey through love, longing, and music.
The film will be shot extensively in Thiruvananthapuram, Kolkata, and Shillong under the banner of Timeless Movies.

Mohanlal and Menon's 2nd collaboration after 'Pakal Nashatrangal'
To note, this will be the second collaboration of Mohanlal and Menon after the 2008 film Pakal Nashatrangal.
The critically acclaimed film, written by Menon and directed by Rajeev Nath, had won Mohanlal several best actor awards.
Meanwhile, Mohanlal is also gearing up for the release of L2: Empuraan, the second installment in the Lucifer trilogy directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran.

Along with his new project with Menon, Mohanlal's future filmography includes Thudarum (Tharun Moorthy), Hridayapoorvam (Sathyan Anthikad), Vrushabha (Nandakishore), AJFC MMMN (Mahesh Narayanan), and a major role in Vishnu Manchu's Kannappa.
A third Drishyam installment is also in the works with director Jeethu Joseph, as well as a film with Jithu Madhavan.
His next release, Empuraan, will have a pan-India release on March 27, 2025.
