Liam Payne allegedly threatened ex-fiancée to get an abortion

    What's the story

After almost four months since Liam Payne's passing, new details about his personal life are coming to light.

A recent report by Rolling Stone claims the former One Direction singer struggled with his sexuality and allegedly pressured his ex-fiancée, influencer Maya Henry, into ending a pregnancy.

It also suggests that while they were in an on-again-off-again relationship from 2018 to 2022, Payne had been sexting men.

    Abortion pressure

Payne allegedly gave Henry an ultimatum to terminate pregnancy

The report alleged that Payne pressured Henry into terminating a pregnancy in 2020 by presenting her with an ultimatum.

An insider told the portal, "Liam sent Maya a long message saying it's either get an abortion and stay with him, or raise the kid alone and he will not acknowledge either of them."

"This was a surprise to Maya, because Liam wanted to have a family, and they were trying for a kid," the insider revealed.

    Novel hints

Henry's novel hinted at her personal experiences

Henry, who allegedly consented to the abortion, appeared to have indirectly alluded to it in her May 2024 novel Looking Forward. The book was based on her relationship with Payne.

Speaking to PEOPLE, she compared her real-life experiences with those of Mallory—a character in the book.

"What I went through in real life is very similar to what Mallory went through. I definitely did have some complications [following my abortion], and I did have to go to the hospital alone."

    Abuse allegations

Allegations of physical abuse against Payne

Along with the sexual abuse, the report also carried allegations of physical abuse by the singer toward Henry.

It alleged that he once pushed her down a flight of stairs and chased her with an ax during their tumultuous relationship.

Responding to the allegations, Henry said that while she deeply loved Payne, he hurt her in ways she will "never fully understand." She added that the pain continued even years after their breakup.

    Tragic demise

Payne's tragic death and posthumous revelations

Notably, Payne tragically died on October 16, 2024, after falling from the third floor of a Buenos Aires hotel.

His then-girlfriend Kate Cassidy had been with him only two days before the incident.

An autopsy revealed that Payne died instantly from "multiple traumatic injuries" resulting in "internal and external hemorrhage."

Toxicology reports released on November 7 showed the presence of alcohol, cocaine, and prescription antidepressants in his system.
