    What's the story

"Jen Aniston should be killed", disgraced Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein had said in 2017, after a reporter reached out to him for a comment on a story, freshly unsealed court documents have revealed.

Harvey's rant against the actor came to the fore after roughly 1,000 pages of court documents were unsealed, ahead of his sentencing on Wednesday.

Harvey got 23 years of jail time.

    Details

Harvey made the comment in response to a harassment allegation

Harvey lashed out at Jennifer in an email dated October 31, 2017, in response to a reporter seeking comment on a previous albeit false allegation which claimed he had groped the F.R.I.E.N.D.S. star.

The actress' representatives confirmed that the allegations were untrue.

"[These] claims are false. Jennifer has not been harassed or assaulted by Harvey," the actor's representative Stephen Huvane told Variety on Tuesday.

    Documents

Harvey also sent emails to Bloomberg, Bezos, show documents

Notably, the said email is just a part of a 1,000-page set of documents that were unsealed in Harvey's court case this week.

The documents also reveal Harvey's incessant pleas after reports of sexual assault and harassment started surfacing against him.

These include emails to powerful agents, businessmen and politicians including the likes of Democratic Party's Michael Bloomberg and Amazon boss Jeff Bezos.

    Sentencing

On Wednesday, Harvey was sentenced to 23 years in prison

On Wednesday, Harvey was sentenced to 23 years in prison by a New York court, in what is being seen as a landmark event in the #MeToo movement.

Once one of the most powerful movie producers in the West, Harvey was last month convicted of the first-degree criminal sexual act and third-degree rape.

Harvey has been accused by numerous women.

Harvey's legacy will be that he's a convicted rapist: Accusers

The Silence Breakers, a committee of women who have accused Harvey of sexual misconduct, welcomed the judgment in a statement.

"Harvey Weinstein's legacy will always be that he's a convicted rapist. He is going to jail - but no amount of jail time will repair the lives he ruined, the careers he destroyed, or the damage he has caused," the group said.

    Quote

I really feel remorse for this situation, said Harvey

"I really feel remorse for this situation. I feel it deeply in my heart. I will spend my time really caring and really trying to be a better person," Harvey said in the court before the judgment was pronounced.
