    What's the story

Social media influencers Ranveer Allahbadia and Apoorva Mukhija have submitted written apologies to the National Commission for Women (NCW) for their controversial remarks on India's Got Latent.

NCW chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar confirmed the development on Friday.

She added their controversial comments were "simply not acceptable."

Mukhija and Allahbadia, along with show producers Saurabh Bothra and Tushar Poojari, appeared before NCW on Thursday.

    Apology tendered

'They have now submitted written apology...'

During a press conference, Rahatkar said, "Four people appeared before the commission—Tushar Poojari, Saurabh Bothra, Apoorva Mukhija and Ranveer Allahbadia."

"The commission will not accept the use of inappropriate language. Such remarks are simply not acceptable."

She added they expressed "deep regret" over their remarks and have now submitted a written apology.

Allahbadia reportedly assured the NCW he would be more mindful in the future.

    Controversy details

    Allahbadia's controversial remarks sparked outrage

The NCW had taken cognizance of the comments made by Allahbadia, Mukhija, etc., on comic Samay Raina's show which sparked nationwide public outrage last month.

Several FIRs were filed against Allahbadia, popularly known as BeerBiceps, for his controversial joke on parental intercourse.

In the wake of the controversy, Raina deleted all the episodes of IGL from YouTube.

    Legal proceedings

Allahbadia's ongoing legal proceedings and future conduct

After appearing before the NCW, Allahbadia went to Guwahati to record his statement with the Crime Branch.

This was after the Guwahati Police registered an FIR against him for his controversial remarks.

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court has permitted Allahbadia to continue airing his YouTube show, The Ranveer Show.

However, he has been asked to conform to norms of "morality and decency."
