How Maddock Films scripted history with back-to-back ₹500cr hits

Dinesh Vijan's production house, Maddock Films, is on a roll as it reportedly becomes the sole banner to have produced two films that have grossed over ₹500cr at the box office.
Vijan's latest release, Vicky Kaushal's Chhaava, is all set to cross the ₹500cr mark in the next few days.
This comes after the success of Stree 2, another Maddock Films production that had entered this exclusive club.

Film distributor and exhibitor Akshaye Rathi stressed that Maddock Films's success is a testament to Vijan's conviction as a producer.
He told Bollywood Hungama, "It takes serious conviction for a producer to back such films with actors who are not true-blue mass stars yet and then pepper them with all the commercial elements, reasonable budget, marketing muscle, etc."
"Hence, this is Dinesh Vijan's victory and then that of Laxman Utekar followed by Vicky Kaushal," he added.

'Content is my bigger star': Vijan's winning strategy
Critic-trade analyst Taran Adarsh pointed out a conversation with Vijan where he said, "I have stars in my film but my content is my bigger star."
Clearly, this strategy is working for Maddock Films, as can be seen from their recent successes.
Notably, Maddock's success has been marked by chartbuster songs, rooted stories, and the famous horror-comedy universe, which has helped the production house break new ground.
