Gurucharan Singh's disappearance: Police questions 'TMKOC' co-stars
What's the story
Television actor Gurucharan Singh, recognized for his portrayal of Roshan Singh Sodhi in the hit show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah (TMKOC), has been missing for 20 days now.
In a bid to locate him, Delhi Police officials recently conducted an investigation at the TMKOC sets located in Mumbai's Film City, reported News18.
A source close to the production revealed that officers questioned Singh's former co-stars about his potential whereabouts.
Financial clearance
No outstanding payments to missing actor, confirms production house
The investigation also addressed rumors of outstanding payments owed to Singh by the production house.
However, it was confirmed that all dues had been settled long ago.
Sohil Ramani, Head of Production at Neela Films, stated "As a part of their investigation, Delhi police had visited our set. They went back assured that there were no dues from our end toward Gurucharan Singh."
"We continue to pray for his well-being and hope he is found soon."
Delayed payments issue
Singh left the show in 2020
Singh briefly left the show in 2013 but returned due to audience demand.
After his final departure in 2020, actor Balwinder Singh Suri took over the role.
Despite rumors about delayed payments causing his exit, Singh previously stated, "There are some other reasons I don't want to talk about."
Meanwhile, in a recent discussion with Times Now, producer Asit Kumarr Modi stated, "It was nothing like that...That was during COVID times and it was stressful for all of us."
Disappearance details
Actor's disappearance possibly planned, suggests investigation
Singh was last seen on April 22, and his father lodged a complaint four days later.
The complaint read: "My son...Age: 50 years...had left at 8:30am on April 22 to go to Mumbai. He didn't reach Mumbai, neither has he returned home...his phone isn't reachable."
Further investigations hint that Singh may have orchestrated his own disappearance as police sources revealed he left his phone in the Palam area and was seen moving from one e-rickshaw to another in CCTV footage.

Co-stars and producer expressed concern over Singh's disappearance
Several of Singh's TMKOC co-stars, including Jennifer Mistry, Samay Shah, and Mandar Chandwadkar, have voiced their concern over his disappearance.
Modi also responded to the news, describing it as "painful" and "shocking."
Hargit Singh, the actor's father, shared his last moments with his son in New Delhi before he went missing.
He told the Times of India that they spent a quiet day at home before Singh was due to travel to Mumbai.
