'Game of Thrones', on HBO, has escalated from being the most popular television show on earth to become a cultural phenomenon.
After season 7's revelatory final episode, hordes of fans eagerly awaited the final season. While HBO had earlier announced 'GoT' would air during the first half of 2019, a tweet on Tuesday confirmed the release month for season 8.

When will the show release?
According to the official tweet, 'Game of Thrones' season 8 will air in April 2019. Since no dates have been specified yet, the beginning of the end is about four and a half to five months away.
Notably, this release schedule brings the show back in line with season 4,5 and 6 premieres.
Thankfully, they are not pushing a July premiere like season 7.

While showrunners D.B. Weiss and David Benioff initially planned to conclude season 8 with 3 theatrical releases, they instead shot six episodes with an average runtime of 80 minutes each.
They also teased the beginning of season 8 mirroring GoT's first episode where King Robert Baratheon rode to Winterfell.
Season 8 will see Daenerys Targaryen ride to Winterfell, preparing for war against White Walkers.

While Benioff and Weiss have been secretive about the final season's details, Kit Harrington and Peter Dinklage, who play Jon Snow and Tyrion Lannister, respectively, have spilled secrets.
Dinklage revealed that season 8 had massive battle scenes and Kit revealed the script made him cry twice.
