    What's the story

Newly-crowned the World's Most Gorgeous Woman, Padmaavat actress Deepika Padukone is admired by all in tinsel town.

Her colleagues have always hailed her for opening up about her struggle with depression.

Recently, the 33-year-old marked her presence at a fundraising event for the Youth Anxiety Center in New York, where she spoke candidly about that battle of hers.

    Here is what she said.

    Details

"Toughest part? When I didn't know it was happening"

In her address, Deepika said that depression can affect anybody regardless of the age and profession.

"The toughest part for me were the months when I didn't know it was happening. The day I understood there was a name to it, it was called clinical depression, I already started feeling much better," she said.

In this context, she also shared a post on Instagram.

Ordeal has taught Deepika to be "patient" and "hopeful"

Her Instagram post, which also had two pictures of hers, talks about what mental illness has taught her.

"Mental illness has presented society with a very tough challenge...But my experience with the illness has taught me so much; to be patient for one...but most importantly that there is 'Hope'! @tlllfoundation #youthanxietycentre," she wrote.

It was in 2014 when she first learned about her problem.
