    What's the story

The Bombay High Court today refused to grant an interim relief to actors Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor.

The duo was charged in 2015 for allegedly using obscene and abusive language in the comedy event "AIB Knockout".

Justice RM Savant and Sarang Kotwal directed the actors' lawyer to first serve a copy of their plea to one of the complainants in the case.

Bench to consider prayer after complainant provide copy of petition

The actors urged the court to direct Pune and Mumbai Police to refrain from taking any coercive action against them. The bench will consider the prayer only after the complainant was provided a copy of the petition. The next hearing will be on 3 April.

    Vulgar Show

    What exactly is the case?

On 20 December 2014, Singh and Kapoor, along with other ten celebrities had performed at a charity event in Worli. A year later the video of the event went viral on YouTube.

In February 2015, an activist Santosh Dundkar filed a complaint in Girgaon court, alleging that the show was "vulgar, obscene...pornographic".

The court then ordered an FIR be registered against all celebrities.

    Actors' plea

    Singh, Kapoor approach High Court

Earlier this year, Singh and Kapoor had approached the high court after they received the summons from the Pune police, directing them to visit the police station for questioning and recording their statements.

They alleged that the FIRs against them had been filed with a "mischievous" and mala fide intent, and also sought that the same be quashed.
