    What's the story

Renowned rapper Badshah has officially joined the judges' panel for the 15th season of the popular singing reality show Indian Idol, replacing previous judge Kumar Sanu.

He will be sharing the platform with Shreya Ghoshal and Vishal Dadlani on the popular Sony TV show.

The announcement was made through a social media promo released by the show's producers on Tuesday, featuring Badshah in his signature style.

    Audience appeal

Badshah's strategic inclusion targets younger audience

The decision to include Badshah in the judges' panel is a strategic move by the show's producers aimed at attracting a younger audience.

His widespread popularity among music lovers made him an ideal choice for this role.

For the unversed, before taking up Indian Idol mentor duty, Badshah served as a judge on India's Got Talent (2022-2023) and MTV Hustle in the same year.
