BAFTA Breakthrough India jury adds another member, Anupam Kher

Anupam Kher has joined the panel of distinguished jury for BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts) Breakthrough India.
The initiative, which has the backing of Netflix, will honor 10 talents from films, games and television industries.
Kher joins Academy Award winner AR Rahman, who is the BAFTA jury chairman, and other panelists such as Mira Nair, Siddharth Roy Kapur and Shonali Bose.

Kher took to his Instagram to announce this achievement.
"Thrilled to be a part of the inaugural @BAFTA Breakthrough India Jury! Can't wait for you to see the incredible talent we had the privilege of choosing who will be announced in early May. Breakthrough India is supported by @Netflix! Jai Ho!," he wrote.
Through this project, BAFTA marks its entry to India.

Winners of BAFTA Breakthrough India will be announced next month
As per the official page of BAFTA, the winners of the BAFTA Breakthrough India will "receive a year-long program of support from BAFTA, access to opportunities and support in both the UK and in India and promotion as talents to watch for the future in India and in the UK," among others.
The final list of the awarded individuals will be announced next month.

Final selection was difficult, says juror Roy Kapur
Speaking on the same, Rahman said, "India is home to incredible artists and I'm proud of us. It's time we make our names known, it's time we all shine."
Meanwhile, Roy Kapur, one of the jurors, highlighted, "The program will give emerging talent unprecedented opportunities to connect with and learn from the very best in the world," adding that the "final selection was difficult."

During that time, the Roja composer had said that he's looking forward "to seeing the brilliant talent chosen from India to be showcased on a global stage."
