Everything to know about Robert Pattinson's 'The Batman'
What's the story
After years worth of wait, DC fans will finally be getting a taste of a solo Batman movie in a few days.
Matt Reeves is coming with his version of the Caped Crusader with Robert Pattinson playing the titular part in The Batman.
Dubbed to be a dark thriller far removed from the DCEU, expectations are sky-high from this one.

Context
Why does this story matter?
Originally, Ben Affleck was set to star in and direct the film. However, Reeves stepped into the helmer's (and writer's) chair in 2018, soon deciding to go with a younger Bruce Wayne.
Then, Twilight alumnus Pattinson was chosen for the role and the filming began in early 2020.
While we got its first teaser in August 2020, the pandemic disrupted the production multiple times.

Colin Farrell is playing Oswald Cobblepot aka Penguin with Paul Dano as the Riddler/Edward Nashton. Also, we'll see John Turturro essaying Gotham City crime boss Carmine Falcone.
Coming to allies, Zoe Kravitz is playing the enigmatic Catwoman/Selina Kyle.
Andy Serkis will enter DC films as Wayne's butler, Alfred Pennyworth, with Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner James Gordon.

Coming to the plotline, Reeves is focusing on a younger Dark Knight struggling with controlling his sense of justice.
The trailers reveal the Riddler is enticing Batman to a chase by leaving him riddles, symbols, and clues.
As the crime meter rises in Gotham, Wayne must deal with some bitter truths about his family, too.
So, this time, threats are both personal and otherwise.
Release
'Vengeance will descend on Gotham' on March 4
After multiple delays, the movie was aiming for a 2021 release but COVID-19 led to a further postponement, sending it to its current March 4, 2022 premiere date.
Forty-five days after its theatrical run, The Batman will head the OTT way on April 19, per WarnerMedia's CEO Jason Kilar.
Also, it is reported to have a pretty long run-time—standing at two hours 55 minutes!
