The tech industry is not having its best time and that is showing up in how employees are ranking their current or former employers.
In the latest ranking of the 'Best Places to Work' by Glassdoor, Google and Microsoft went down in the list: Google from 8th to 26th, and Microsoft from 13th to 18th.
Surprisingly, In-N-Out Burger, a name not expected among tech giants, has been ranked as one of the best places to work since 2015.

Fewer tech companies make the cut
In 2024, fewer tech companies made it onto Glassdoor's list, with only 31 featured compared to 41 the previous year.
The top two from 2023, Gainsight and Box, known for their passionate leadership and clear career advancement metrics, were missing from this year's list.
The tech industry's broader struggles seem to be affecting employee sentiment, as over 260,000 layoffs occurred in the sector last year.
Meta and Zoom did not make the cut for the second year in a row.
