Bengaluru: 'Save Bengaluru'- BJP's new campaign for May polls

    What's the story

With the Karnataka election slated for May, BJP launched 'Save Bengaluru' campaign on Holi, putting Congress on defense.

It'll be a door-to-door campaign lasting 13 days, where senior leaders will cover two constituencies per day.

The campaign, also called Bengaluru Rakshisi rally was flagged off by HRD Minister Prakash Javedekar and Union minister Ananth Kumar after worshiping at the Gavi Gangadhareshwara Temple in Basavanagudi.

    'Goonda raj'

BJP chose tainted MLA son's assault venue to start rally

The saffron party took out its first rally from UB City on Vittal Mallya Road, close to the restaurant where MLA NA Harris's son Mohammad Harris Nalpad assaulted a man.

Terming it as 'goonda raj of Congress', BJP ended the march at Brigade Road, part of Shantinagar Assembly which is represented by Harris.

Javadekar and Ananthkumar led the walk.

    'Cong is arrogant'

Choose between goonda raj of Congress or proper raj: BJP

"Siddaramaiah-led government has been arrogant of power because of which law and order is deteriorated in Bengaluru," said Javadekar, asking people to choose between 'goonda raj' of Congress or proper raj by BJP.

Meanwhile Siddaramaiah has been on an autopilot mode of sanctioning new developmental projects almost everyday.

BJP in an attempt to take that flavor out, asked Congress for an expenditure report.

    Details

Rally to go on till March 15

Of the total 28 assembly constituencies, Congress holds 13 seats and BJP holds 12.

The rally that will go on up to March 15, will cover all the constituencies, with BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa starting his rally on Saturday from K R Puram constituency.

"We will raise questions about the failure of governance, misuse of power," said BJP joint spokesperson S Prakash.
