    What's the story

Bajaj-owned KTM is gearing up to launch the 890 Duke R motorcycle in India by next year.

The flagship adventure tourer, which made its global debut, at the 2019 EICMA show is likely to replace Duke 790 in the country.

Apart from its powerful engine, the motorcycle also comes with an eye-catching look and several rider-friendly features.

    Here are more details.

    Design

A look at the KTM 890 Duke R

The KTM 890 Duke R sports a naked-street design featuring sharp styling elements including an angular-looking fuel tank, stepped-up seat, and dual-LED headlamp unit.

The motorcycle comes with an attractive dual-tone paint job, minimalistic graphics, and runs on body-colored alloy wheels.

Moreover, it also offers a fully-digital instrument cluster along with LED turn indicators and taillights.

    Information

    Power and performance

The KTM 890 Duke R is powered by a BS6-compliant 890cc twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine, that comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox with slipper clutch. The motor is capable of producing 121PS of maximum power and 99Nm of peak torque.

    Safety

What about safety and suspension setup?

The KTM 890 Duke R comes equipped with disc brakes on both the front and rear ends. Apart from that, it gets several rider-friendly features such as cornering ABS, traction control with lean angle sensitivity, and three riding modes for improved road handling.

Moreover, the bike houses fully-adjustable inverted telescopic forks up front and a mono-shock unit on the rear to manage suspension duties.

    Information

And, how much will it cost?

KTM is likely to bring the 890 Duke R in India via CKD route by 2021. As far as pocket-pinch is concerned, the adventure tourer is likely to be priced around Rs. 10-11 lakh.
