    What's the story

A Kerala-born tech professional, who now lives in the United States, recently took to Reddit to share his workplace experiences.

The techie compared his time working under Canadian and American supervisors to his current experience under an Indian manager in the US.

He lauded his former Canadian and American female bosses for their supportive and empathetic approach.

"They cared about our health, families, and work environment," he wrote, noting the absence of racism.

The techie also recalled how his previous managers went the extra mile to make work comfortable.

"I was happy to put in extra hours because my boss ensured we were comfortable. She'd even send Amazon gift cards or t-shirts as tokens of appreciation," he said.

Such a supportive environment made his work not just bearable but enjoyable, he added.

However, his experience took a sharp turn when he started working under an Indian manager based in the US.

"It's just the first week of my new job, and I can already see the power play with my new Indian manager. She's so egoistic, constantly looking down on us, never showing any respect... Honestly, I'm already thinking of resigning after I get my first salary," he revealed.

Reddit post sparks debate on Indian managers in US

The Reddit post quickly went viral, triggering a heated debate with more than 900 upvotes.

Many agreed with the techie's observations about Indian managers in the US.

One user said, "Indian managers who relocate to the US are often the worst—they bring toxic work habits with them."

Another user said while some Indian managers are good, many are difficult to work with.
