Record: 18-year-old solves six Rubik's Cubes underwater in one breath

In a bizarre, albeit brilliant feat, an 18-year-old Georgian student solved six Rubik's Cubes underwater in one breath, and is on his way to becoming a Guiness World Record holder.
Officials with the Georgian Records Federation have observed the event, and have conferred the student, Vako Marchilashvili, with a diploma confirming his record-breaking feat.
Guiness will now verify the evidence.

Pending Guiness World Records' verification of Marchilashvili's feat, the current record holder remains Anthony Brooks from the US. In 2014, Brooks solved five Rubik's Cubes underwater in one breath, thereby setting a world record.

Details of the event which saw Marchilashvili set the record
The event which saw Vako Marchilashvili accomplish the feat took place in front of a crowd at the Gino Paradise aqua park in the Georgian capital of Tbilisi.
Marchilashvili, who held his breath for one minute and 44 seconds, solved each Rubik's cube, and sent them floating up to the surface.
Having solved the last one, he emerged from the tank amid loud cheers.

"I trained a lot, planning to break a record, and to ensure my safety because, even a small mistake could be dangerous and life-altering," said Marchilashvili, who trained for six months to accomplish the feat.

Marchilashvili has a streak of winning Rubik's Cube challenges
Notably, this isn't Marchilashvili's first Rubik's Cube solving stunt.
In 2015, Marchilashvili won a cube solving competition - Georgian Open - organized by the World Cube Association, by solving a Rubik's Cube in 15.05 seconds.
In 2017, Marchilashvili participated in Georgia's Got Talent 2017 and displayed his genius skills to the Georgian public by solving a Rubik's Cube with his eyes blindfolded.
