Musk reduced son's child support after mother's sole custody suit

    What's the story

Elon Musk (53) has reportedly substantially reduced financial support for his six-month-old son after author and columnist Ashley St. Clair (27) sued him for sole legal custody.

St. Clair's lawyers allege he took the step in retaliation against her and their child after she tried to resolve the issue privately but failed.

"He did this after Ashley was forced to bring this matter to court," the author's team told PEOPLE.

    Custody dispute

Musk last came to visit the child in November 2024

St. Clair has openly accused Musk of being an absentee father to their child, whom they welcomed together last year.

She claims that despite dating Musk from May 2023 and conceiving their child in January 2024, he has only seen the child three times with his last visit in November 2024.

"I am the only parent to make decisions for R.S.C. I schedule and take him to all his medical appointments."

    Legal proceedings

Musk allegedly tried to prevent St. Clair from speaking out

In response to St. Clair's allegations, Musk had reportedly filed an emergency gag order to prevent her from speaking about his actions in public.

However, the judge denied the emergency nature of this application, which remains pending.

St. Clair is vigorously opposing this application to preserve her right to speak out about the situation, her attorneys said.

    Evidence submission

St. Clair's request for DNA testing and relationship proof

Apart from full custody, St. Clair has asked the court to make Musk take a DNA test to confirm he is the father of their child.

To back her claims of their relationship, she submitted several alleged text exchanges with Musk. One such text allegedly from Musk read: "I want to knock you up again."

Musk, who has 13 other children, hasn't publicly acknowledged being the father of this infant.
