Princess Kate Middleton has 'turned a corner' with cancer treatment

    What's the story

Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, is reportedly making good progress in her cancer treatment.

Despite no official return date to royal duties being set, sources confirmed to Vanity Fair that she will "100% be coming back to work."

The princess has remained engaged with the activities of the Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood and its task force during her treatment period.

Her health, however, remains her top priority right now.

    Recovery progress

Middleton, who has been absent from official public engagements since Christmas Day, is said to have "turned a corner" with her preventative chemotherapy treatment.

Sources told Vanity Fair, "It has been a great relief that she is tolerating the medication and is actually doing a lot better. It has, of course, been a very challenging and worrying time. Everyone has rallied around her—William, her parents, and her sister and brother."

In her absence, Prince William has been fulfilling official engagements.

A source told Vanity Fair, "There is no timeline [for her to back at work], and there is certainly no hurry. It will be when Catherine feels ready and when she gets the greenlight from her medical team. But she will 100% be coming back to work, of that there is no question."

After weeks of relentless scrutiny about her absence, Middleton revealed in March that she has been diagnosed with cancer.

    Active engagement

Middleton's continued involvement in Royal Foundation Centre

Despite her ongoing treatment, Middleton has kept herself updated on the activities of the Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood.

A Kensington Palace spokesman, however, clarified that this should not be seen as a sign of her imminent return to work.

A senior royal aide told Daily Mail, "We have been really clear that she needs the space and the privacy to recover right now. She will return to work when she has had the greenlight from doctors."

    Organization

What is the Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood?

Per its website, "Over the last decade, The Princess of Wales has spent time looking into how experiences in early childhood are often the root cause of today's hardest social challenges, such as addiction, family breakdown, poor mental health, suicide and homelessness. "

"In June 2021, [she] launched The Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood, which will drive awareness of and action on the extraordinary impact of the early years, in order to transform society for the future."
