    What's the story

Former United States President Donald Trump has accused current President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris of inciting the second assassination attempt on his life.

In an interview with Fox News Digital, Trump claimed that the suspected gunman was influenced by the Democrats's "highly inflammatory language."

This incident marks the second time since July that an attempt has been made on Trump's life.

    Incident recap

Details of the assassination attempt and arrest

The alleged assassin, identified as Ryan Wesley Routh, was armed with an AK-47-style rifle and had positioned himself behind a chain-link fence overlooking the golf course.

He also had a GoPro camera and two backpacks with him.

Routh managed to flee the scene but was later apprehended on I-95.

During his interview, Trump said, "He believed the rhetoric of Biden and Harris, and he acted on it."

    Accusations

Trump accuses Democrats of destroying the country

Trump further accused Biden and Harris of endangering the nation with their policies, saying, "Their rhetoric is causing me to be shot at, when I am the one who is going to save the country, and they are the ones that are destroying the country—both from the inside and out."

He criticized them for labeling him a "threat to democracy" while portraying themselves as "unity" leaders.

    Media criticism

Trump criticizes media's coverage of Democrats

Trump also expressed his dissatisfaction with the media's portrayal of Democrats, particularly during his recent debate against Harris on ABC News.

He accused the media of being biased and protecting Democrats at all costs.

"The media is made up of fools that will spew [Democrats's] garbage and spew their sick philosophies and will protect them at all costs, and they can't believe they get away with it," he said.

    Warning issued

Trump warns Democrats about their inflammatory language

Trump also warned Democrats about their use of "highly inflammatory language," suggesting that he could retaliate but chooses not to.

He assured his supporters in a fundraising email that he is "safe and well" following the shooting incident near his Florida Golf Course on Sunday.

The first assassination attempt against Trump occurred in July when he was shot in the ear at a Pennsylvania rally by a gunman who killed one person and injured others before being shot by police.
