    What's the story

    A shooting in the Dutch town of Utrecht on Monday injured multiple people, the police have confirmed.

    The incident took place near a tram at the 24th of October Square around 10:45 AM (local time), revealed Joost Lanshage, spokesperson for police in central Holland.

    The shooting is reportedly over and police have cordoned off the area to make way for emergency services.

    This incident comes close to the heels of the New Zealand shooting in which 50 people were killed. A white supremacist opened fire at two mosques in the Christchurch area on Friday making it the worst terror attack to have hit the nation.
