Mumbai Indians handed Yuvraj Singh a breathing space in the recently concluded Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019 auction.
Yuvraj, who didn't find any takers for most part of the evening, was finally snapped up by MI.
He was bought at his base price of Rs. 1 crore.
And now the southpaw has stated that he is hungry to perform in the upcoming IPL 12.

According to a report in Mumbai Mirror, Yuvraj said that he is ready to put the past disappointments behind him and is keen to have an impact.
"There is fire in the belly. The hunger is there, I'm not playing for the sake of playing. I am playing because I want to play. Hopefully this time I will be able to deliver," Yuvi stated.

Yuvi was below-par last season
There was a question mark over takers for Yuvraj in the IPL 2019 Auction.
He had a dismal campaign last season.
The middle order batsman did not help Kings XI Punjab's cause in the matches he played.
In 8 matches, Yuvraj amassed just 65 runs and slowed down proceedings.
No other teams bid for Yuvi on Tuesday.

Yuvi will be looking to prove critics wrong and show that even at 37, he still has the mettle in him to be the match-winner.
He will get opportunities in the middle order for MI and the southpaw will need to cash in.
MI fans were ecstatic when Yuvi was roped in by the team and now they will hope for something special.

Yuvraj, who is in his final days of his career, said that he will decide on hanging his boots post the ICC World Cup 2019.
"I will take a call after the World Cup. I will take stock about where my life is headed. At the moment the next three-four months are crucial for me in cricket. I want to just focus on that."
