What's the story
The WWE superstars train extensively to perform in the ring. They also work hard to portray their character in a proper manner.
As a result, some superstars become so famous that in order to come up with a great storyline, WWE brings up impostors of these wrestlers and pit them against each other.

The Renegade Warrior
The Renegade Warrior enjoyed an unbeaten streak
Superstar impersonation started during the 90s itself.
In 1994, when WCW was trying to sign The Ultimate Warrior, they failed and roped in an impostor of him in the form of The Renegade Warrior, portrayed by Rick Wilson.
While he never faced Ultimate Warrior, he went unbeaten for a long time in WCW, before WWE sued them and the name Warrior was dropped.
NWO Sting
NWO Sting smartly replaces Sting, but not for long
Sting was undoubtedly one of the greatest superstars in WCW.
However, during a particular instance when Sting was injured and unable to appear, general manager Eric Bischoff introduced an impostor NWO Sting, played by Jeff Farmer.
He was assumed to be the original Sting, before Sting made his return.
The rivalry was epic as original Sting began his transformation to his iconic 'Crow' gimmick.
Imposter Demon Kane
Kane faces the wrath of the demonic impostor Kane
Among Kane's memorable feuds, there was one particular feud that shocked all when an impostor (Luke Gallows) showed up in 2006 to challenge the real Kane.
What made it even interesting is that the impostor was disguised in Kane's old attire, with the mask.
While Kane ended up losing a match against him, the crowd thoroughly enjoyed the feud.
Fake Undertaker
The Phenom has a date the The Dead Man himself
Even The Undertaker was not spared when it came to impersonation.
In 1994, after WrestleMania 10, when Undertaker was on a break, Ted DiBiase introduced the Fake Undertaker, played by Brian Lee.
After terrorizing WWE momentarily, the real Undertaker returned at SummerSlam and ended UnderFAKER's reign with three tombstone piledrivers.
However, the WWE Universe did not enjoy this feud.
Gillberg
Hello Goldberg. Meet your little fake brother Gillberg!
Goldberg was undoubtedly one of the biggest superstars in WCW, before WWE bought the promotion.
Meanwhile, WWE decided to taunt WCW again.
As Goldberg was the WCW's biggest draw, the former came up with a minnow version of him, in the form of Gillberg.
Notably, both never faced off against each other, while Gillberg lost most of his matches.
