    IPL11: All you need to know about the opening ceremony

    What's the story

    The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018 season kicks off on Saturday, April 7. And prior to the first match, the IPL opening ceremony will take place.

    Over the last decade, Bollywood stars have mesmerized fans with stunning performances, and this time too a lot can be expected from the star-studded bandwagon.

    Here is all you need to know about 2018 IPL opening ceremony.

    Timing, venue and where to watch

    The opening ceremony kicks off at 5 PM at the Wankhede in Mumbai. It will be a 90-minute affair and will end around 6:30 PM. One can watch the ceremony at Star Sports 1/HD and 2/HD.

    Bollywood stars

    Who all will be performing at the event?

    Many Bollywood A-Grade stars are set to perform at the event.

    Reports state that actors like Parineeti Chopra, Varun Dhawan and Jacqueline Fernandez will be leading the line.

    Tamannaah Bhatia is expected to join them this time.

    Meanwhile, Ranveer Singh was supposed to perform the grand finale act, but a shoulder injury has ruled him out. Hrithik Roshan will replace the star.

    Only Dhoni, Rohit to attend ceremony

    Out of the 8 captains, only Dhoni and Rohit will attend the ceremony. Other skippers will not be in Mumbai due to logistical reasons. Earlier, the opening ceremony was supposed to happen on April 6, but the CoA postponed it due to budgetary constraints.
