    What's the story

Star India wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant will lead the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.

Notably, he was bought for a staggering ₹27 crore in the IPL 2025 mega auction in Jeddah. This made him the most-expensive player in IPL's history.

Meanwhile, this signing also ended Pant's nine-year association with Delhi Capitals.

Ahead of IPL 2025, let's revisit Pant's top IPL knocks.

    #1

    78* (27) vs Mumbai Indians, 2019

In the 2019 match against the Mumbai Indians, Pant displayed his batting skills by scoring a phenomenal 78 runs off just 27 balls.

This innings, which was laced with seven fours and as many maximums, powered Delhi Capitals to a 37-run win at the Wankhede Stadium.

Pant arrived to bat in the 13th over and went after the bowlers from the outset.

The southpaw's explosive batting helped his side post a daunting total of 213/6.

    #2

    79 (45) vs Chennai Super Kings, 2018

Pant showcased his batting prowess by scoring a commendable 79 runs off just 45 balls in the 2018 match against the Chennai Super Kings in Pune (7 fours, 4 sixes).

He almost single-handedly took his team to victory after they lost two early wickets for just 46 runs.

DC, who were chasing 212, fell short by 13 runs.

Despite Delhi Capitals's dismal performance that season, Pant scored over 684 runs at a strike rate of 173.60.

    #3

    97 (43) vs Gujarat Lions, 2017

In the 2017 match against the now-defunct Gujarat Lions, Pant almost scored a century, falling short at 97 runs off 43 balls.

His performance was key in Delhi Capitals' successful chase of a mammoth total of 208 runs.

Pant walked in to bat at number three and ruled the stage with his explosive batting in Delhi.

He smoked nine sixes and six fours that day as DC (214/3) prevailed in just 17.3 overs.

    #4

    128* (63) vs Sunrisers Hyderabad, 2018

In a memorable 2018 match against the Sunrisers Hyderabad, Pant scored only maiden IPL century. He made a stunning 128* off just 63 balls in Delhi (15 fours, 7 sixes).

Despite DC losing two wickets early on, Pant's brilliant batting took his team's total to 187/5.

Though they couldn't defend it and lost the match, Pant's performance in this game is an unforgettable highlight of his IPL career.
