    What's the story

Ace Indian badminton player Kidambi Srikanth won the 2017 French Open Super Series title and became the first Indian shuttler to lift the trophy since 2001.

He defeated Japan's Kenta Nishimoto 21-14, 21-13 to lift his fourth Super Series title this year.

Let us have a look at Srikanth's extraordinary career graph and records broken by him.

    Historical

Fourth badminton player with four Super Series wins

After his win in Paris, Kidambi Srikanth became only the fourth badminton player to win four Super Series title in a year. However, he is the first Indian player to achieve the milestone.

    Indonesia Open

First Super Series title of the year

After a loss in the finals of the Singapore Open Super Series, Kidambi Srikanth worked his way up to the finals of Indonesia Open Super Series Premier in Jakarta.

He defeated Japan's Kazumasa Sakai in the finals, thus becoming the first Indian male player to win Indonesia Open in the history of the tournament.

Saina Nehwal has won the women's single title three times.

    Australian open

Third consecutive finals and second title

Continuing his good performance, Srikanth stormed into the finals of the Australian Open Super Series in Sydney.

It was his third consecutive final and the winning streak continued as he defeated China's Chen Long in straight sets, to again become the first Indian male player to win the Australian Open Super Series title.

It was his second title win in just 10 days.

    Denmark Open

Back to top form with third title win

After withdrawing from the Korea Open and a quarter-finals exit in the Japan Open, Srikanth entered the Denmark Open Super Series in Copenhagen.

On his way to the finals, Srikanth defeated local boy and then the world number two Viktor Axelsen on his way to finals.

In finals, he defeated former world number one Lee Hyun-il to lift third Super Series title of 2017.

    Race to the top

Srikanth goes past Prakash Padukone and coach Gopichand

With 10 career titles, Srikanth Kidambi is now the most successful male badminton player of India, going past Prakash Padukone and Pullela Gopichand.

However, he is tied on the second spot with PV Sindhu on the list of most wins by Indian shuttlers.

Former world number one Saina Nehwal remains the most successful Indian shuttler with a record 21 titles.
