    What's the story

Indian A pacer Prasidh Krishna left an all-round mark in the second unofficial Test against Australia A. His performance could open the doors for his return to India's Test side.

He proved he is ready for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy with a fiery spell and timely batting, possibly sealing a spot in India's pace attack for the Perth Test on November 22.

    Early strikes

Krishna's fiery start stuns Australia A

Krishna got off to a fiery start in the second innings, sending both Marcus Harris and Cameron Bancroft back for golden ducks in his first over.

The left-handed Harris was caught off guard by a full-length delivery from Krishna which swung in a tad and found his inside edge.

Bancroft was sent back on the very next ball with a ripping toe-crusher, putting Australia A on the back foot early on.

    Batting prowess

    Krishna's all-round contribution boosts India A

Apart from his bowling, Krishna also chipped in with the bat, scoring 29 important runs to take India A's total to 229 in the second innings.

His 4-50 in Australia A's first innings was just shy of a five-wicket haul, highlighting his knack for striking regularly and adding to the scoreboard pressure on the opposition.

This all-round show only bolsters his case for the upcoming Test series.

    Selection prospects

Krishna's seam movement and bounce impress selectors

Krishna's bowling not only broke partnerships but also highlighted his ability to exploit the bounce and movement off the pitch.

He dismissed Jimmy Peirson with a delivery that leaped off a length, breaking their 68-run partnership.

Later, he returned to dismiss Harris again on 74, and drew Scott Boland into a false shot.

These performances make him a strong contender for the third pacer spot alongside Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj in the Indian XI.
