    KL Rahul attains 9th position in ICC player rankings

    Indian opener Lokesh Rahul climbed up two places to equal his career best ninth position in the latest test rankings of the International Cricket Council (ICC).

    Rahul scored two half-centuries in second and third tests against Sri Lanka recently.

    He also went past former Indian captain Rahul Dravid to score the most number of consecutive fifties (seven) in tests.

    Dhawan climbs up 10 places

    'Man of the Series' Shikhar Dhawan climbed up 10 places to 29th position to attain his career best rankings among ICC batsmen. He scored 358 runs in the three match series, hitting two tons.

    Pandya, Shami and Yadav jump up too

    Debutant Hardik Pandya, who also scored his maiden test century in the third test against Sri Lanka climbed up to 68th position, with a jump of 45 places in test batsmen rankings.

    Indian bowlers Mohammed Shami climbed up to 19th position, while Umesh Yadav achieved his career best ranking of 21 in the ICC bowlers list.

    Chinaman Kuldeep Yadav moved up to 48th rank.

    Jadeja no longer the number 1 all rounder

    While Ravindra Jadeja remained on top spot on the ICC's test bowlers rankings, he dropped to second place in the all-rounders list. Bangladesh's Shakib Al Hasan displaced Jadeja to achieve the top spot.

    Warner drops out of top 10

    Australian big hitter David Warner dropped out of the top 10 list of the ICC's test batsmen. He is currently ranked 11th. His counterpart Steve Smith continued to dominate the ranking.

    English batsman Jonny Bairstow moved up one place to become the sixth best batsman in the world, while his captain Joe Root is stable on the second position.
