The biggest upsets in the history of WWE

    What's the story

When a newbie gets into the ring with a legend, generally he gets a push by the veteran but eventually ends up losing the match, as Cena famously did in his debut bout against Kurt Angle.

However, at times, we are in for a complete surprise as certain WWE bookings provide us with unimaginable upsets.

Here're five biggest upsets in the history of WWE.

    Fandango vs Chris Jericho

Fandango gets a win over the legendary Chris Jericho

Competing in the Showcase of the Immortals, WrestleMania, is exciting, but what Fandango achieved, was one of the most shocking results in the pay-per-view's history.

WrestleMania 29 was the moment he made his in-ring debut, and that too against Chris Jericho.

To the surprise of the world, the newbie managed to get the better of the future Hall of Famer.

    Rico vs Flair

Most of us do not even remember who Rico is

Rico started his WWE career as the personal stylist of the duo Billy and Chuck, but went on to have a small but eventful career as a wrestler.

However, the best moment of his career surely came on a Raw episode in 2003, when he was booked to fight against the all-time great Ric Flair.

To everyone's surprise, Rico got away with a win!

    Shelton vs Triple H

A young Shelton Benjamin pins The Game

When Triple H was ruling the Raw main-event slot during 2002-05, it was impossible to get a win against him.

He would cheat with the help of Evolution members and had a death-grip on the heavyweight title.

It left everyone completely baffled when a young Shelton Benjamin was given the biggest push of all as he pinned Triple H for a win on Raw.

    Sheamus vs Cena

Newcomer Sheamus wins over John Cena

When Cena was at the peak of his popularity, no one was allowed to get a win over the ultimate posterboy of the company.

Thus it shocked wrestling fans when a relatively newcomer Sheamus managed to pin John Cena and get his hands on the WWE title.

His rise to the top was like that of Brock Lesnar, but Sheamus lost the momentum midway.

    The Kid vs Razor Ramon

The Kid defeats the mighty Razor Ramon

In one of the most shocking moments in the history of Raw, a young wrestler named The Kid was booked against the mighty Razor Ramon (Scott Hall).

While everybody thought it was impossible for the youngster to win, he managed to score a victory over the superstar.

He went on to have a successful career taking the name X-Pac, famously as part of Degeneration-X.
