Jos Buttler: 269 runs, 2021
Jos Buttler holds the record for smashing the most runs for England in a T20 World Cup.
He slammed 269 runs at an incredible average of 89.66, while his strike rate read 151.12.
During the tournament, Buttler also became England's second centurion in T20 World Cups.
Buttler also smacked 13 sixes, the joint-most for England in a T20 WC with Luke Wright (2012).

Joe Root: 249 runs in 2016
Joe Root follows Buttler on this list, having slammed 249 runs in the 2016 T20 World Cup held in India.
Root, who plays spin well, made merry in India's testing conditions.
Even in the final against the West Indies, he smashed a 36-ball 54, albeit in a losing cause.
Root had a strike rate of 146.47 throughout the tournament.

Kevin Pietersen: 248 runs in 2010
Kevin Pietersen's sublime run in 2010 powered England to their maiden T20 World Cup title.
Pietersen, one of the most flamboyant batters, smashed 248 runs at 62.00 in that T20 WC held in the Caribbean. He was eventually adjudged the Player of the Series.
Pietersen also slammed a 31-ball 47 in the final as England beat arch-rivals Australia by seven wickets.

Jos Buttler: 225 runs in 2022
Buttler led England from the front in the 2022 T20 World Cup Down Under. He amassed 225 runs at a strike rate of 144.23.
Buttler's England crushed India in the semi-final, winning by 10 wickets. Buttler (80*) and Alex Hales (86*) helped England chase down 170 in just 16 overs.
Notably, Buttler became the first Englishman with 200+ runs in two T20 WC campaigns.
