    What's the story

Mumbai Indians' captain Harmanpreet Kaur lauded her side's collective effort after winning their second Women's Premier League (WPL) title.

The side won the title with an eight-run win over Delhi Capitals at the Brabourne Stadium.

Kaur led from the front with a brilliant show, scoring 66 runs off just 44 balls and taking her side to 149/7 in their innings.

The skipper was also named the Player of the Final for her impressive performance.

    Here's more.

    Team effort

    Key contributions from teammates

Apart from Kaur's brilliant innings, Nat Sciver-Brunt was also instrumental in the team's victory.

She scored 30 runs off 28 balls and stitched an important partnership with her captain when the team was reeling at 14/2.

Sciver-Brunt also contributed heavily with the ball, taking three wickets and defending their total.

The team's spinner, Amelia Kerr, added two more scalps to seal the deal for Mumbai Indians.

    Post-match thoughts

Kaur reflects on team's performance and strategy

In her post-match speech, Kaur acknowledged the challenge posed by Delhi Capitals and expressed her happiness.

"Definitely, it is a great team effort," Harmanpreet said in the post-match presentation, as quoted by Cricbuzz.

"Congrats to Delhi for the way they played, it was not easy for us.

"It wasn't easy when I went to bat," she said, adding that she had faith in her ability to rotate strikes with Sciver-Brunt.

This win marks Mumbai's second title in WPL history.

    Young talent

Kaur acknowledges contributions of young all-rounders

Kaur also emphasized the important contributions of young all-rounders Amanjot Kaur and Sanskriti Gupta, and Shabnim Ismail.

She lauded their performances throughout the season and in today's final.

"150 was not a decent total for DC but in pressure games, it always looks like 180," she said, attributing her bowlers for important breakthroughs in powerplay overs.

Mumbai Indians are now the first team with multiple WPL titles to their name.

    Match recap

MI beat DC to clinch their second WPL title

Harmanpreet Kaur-led MI defeated Meg Lanning-led DC to secure their second WPL title.

Batting first, MI struggled at 2/14 before Sciver-Brunt and Kaur built an 89-run stand.

    Sciver-Brunt fell for 30, but Kaur's brilliant 66 off 44 helped MI post 149/7 in 20 overs.

    Defending 150, Sciver-Brunt's 3/30 and Kerr's 2/25 ensured Marizanne Kapp's 40 off 26 and Jemimah Rodrigues's 30 off 21 went in vain, as DC were restricted to 141/9.
