Messi a Champions League hero as number 10
In 2008-09 UEFA Champions League final, Messi scored Barca's 2nd goal against Manchester United with a stunning header from a cross by Xavi Hernandez.
In 2010-11, the two sides faced each other, once again, in the Champions League final and Messi scored with a 20-yard strike, as Barca won 3-1.
In 2014-15 season, Messi helped Barca win another UCL title.

2009 was a defining year for Messi
In 2009, Barca raced to La Liga title as well as enjoyed a record 6-2 win against Real Madrid in El Clasico.
Messi was vital in that match as he scored a brace.
In that year he also scored a decisive injury-time winner in their Club World Cup victory.
Messi helped Barca win six trophies in that particular calendar year.

2015 saw Messi break a host of records
In 2015, Messi saw his name in every record possible in Spain.
He became the highest goal-scorer ever in La Liga that year, after breaking Telmo Zarra's record which had remained intact since 1955.
In a 5-0 win against Levante, he accounted his 106th assist, which became the highest ever.
That year he guided Barca to another treble including the Champions League.

In 2017, Messi was at his best against Paris Saint-Germain as they won 6-1 in the 2nd leg of the quarter-final after losing 4-0 earlier.
