    What's the story

Formula 1 (F1) is set to make a thrilling return with the Dutch Grand Prix, following a month-long summer hiatus.

The race will take place at the seaside resort of Zandvoort.

With just 10 races remaining in this season, all eyes will be on Red Bull Racing's Max Verstappen as they aim to maintain their lead in both the Drivers and Constructors championships.

Here are aspects that are in the highlight.

    Home turf

    Verstappen's home advantage and lead

Verstappen, a three-time champion and local favorite, is set to race in front of his dedicated Orange Army of fans.

Despite not having won since the Spanish Grand Prix in June, he remains 78 points ahead of his closest competitor, Lando Norris from McLaren.

Verstappen has previously dominated at Zandvoort, securing victories in 2021, 2022 and 2023.

After 14 races in 2024, Verstappen leads the Driver Standings with 277 points.

He is also featuring in his 200th F1 race.

    Rising star

McLaren's resurgence and Norris's breakthrough year

Norris, a 24-year-old British driver, is having an exceptional season with McLaren.

He secured his first ever Grand Prix victory in Miami, ending Verstappen's winning streak and shedding his online moniker of "Lando NoWins."

Additionally, Oscar Piastri clinched a maiden Grand Prix win for McLaren in Hungary in July, marking the team's first 1-2 podium finish since 2021.

    Team tension

    Perez has struggled this season

In the constructors' championship, Red Bull lead by a narrow 42-point margin, with McLaren in second place and Ferrari trailing an additional 21 points behind.

Verstappen's Red Bull teammate, Sergio Perez, has faced a tough season since May's Miami GP, with his highest finish being eighth place.

Despite speculation about his future with the team due to this slump, Red Bull have publicly expressed their support for Perez.

Perez is 7th in the Driver standings this year, earning four podiums.
