    What's the story

England cricketer Joe Root's ODI return was marred by a poor outing against Indian spinner Ravindra Jadeja.

The two faced off during the first ODI in Nagpur, where Root failed to make a dent in England's scorecard against India.

His 31-ball 19-run stay at the crease ended when he was given a leg-before wicket by Jadeja.

Root, who last played ODI cricket in the 2023 World Cup, failed on his return.

England were folded for 248 runs. Here's more.
