As per reports, the state government has permitted only 25% of the crowd as of now.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has clarified that more fans will be allowed as the tournament progresses.

India haven't hosted a full edition of the IPL in two years.
The 2020 season got shifted to the UAE due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was played behind closed doors.
Meanwhile, the 2021 edition was held across two phases (in India and the UAE).
The Indian stadiums are likely to see crowd in the IPL matches for the first time since 2019.

"That is our understanding. Going forward the stadiums will have more fans than initial games. With COVID-19 cases coming down by the day, we are hoping more people will be in the stands," an office-bearer of the BCCI told Cricbuzz on Monday.
Numbers
Wankhede will host nearly 10,000 people
According to an estimate, the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai would host 9,800-10,000 people in the impending IPL season.
Meanwhile, the Brabourne Stadium in the city will have a capacity of nearly 8,000 people.
The DY Patil Stadium in Nerul will open gates for 12,000 fans.
Besides, the Maharashtra Cricket Stadium in Pune will have nearly 12,000 spectators.

Defending champions Chennai Super Kings will take on Kolkata Knight Riders in the opening match of the 2022 Indian Premier League (IPL) season, starting March 26 at Wankhede.
A total of 70 games will be played across 58 days in Mumbai and Pune.
As many as 12 double-headers are scheduled to take place.
Meanwhile, the itinerary for the playoffs is yet to be out.
